Practice information
I offer individual, couples and family therapy by way of Telehealth on Zoom.
Insurance
I am a provider for BCBS, Aetna and Cigna. If you have a different insurance carrier, you can check with them to see if they cover out of network providers. If so, you would pay me directly and then get reimbursed by them for our sessions.
INITIAL CONTACT
You can contact me from my website or by email to arrange an evaluation session.
EVALUATION
We will meet for a 45-minute evaluation session to discuss your concerns, gather your personal history and answer any questions you might have about me or the structure of therapy.
LENGTH OF SESSIONS
Subsequent individual sessions can be set for 45 or 55 minutes in duration. Most insurances however only allow 45 minutes for couples and family sessions.
THERAPIST-CLIENT MATCH
It’s helpful to allow 2 or 3 sessions for us to get a sense of how it is to work together and whether we are a good match to continue.
REFERRALS
If we decide we are not the right match, I would be happy to help connect you to other clinicians who might be a better match or have the areas of specialty you are seeking.
FREQUENCY OF SESSIONS
If we decide to continue with our work, we can choose a weekly or biweekly frequency. That frequency can change over the course of our work together, increasing to twice weekly if you are going through a particularly difficult time or decrease to biweekly or monthly as things improve and you are getting ready to discontinue our work.
PROGRESS IN THERAPY
It’s typically helpful to remain in therapy for at least 3 to 6 months to see noticeable results, though deeper work sometimes requires 2 to 3 years or longer.
ASSESSMENT OF PROGRESS
We can review our work together every 3 to 6 months to see if we are on the right track or if we need to change or restructure our goals, approach, etc.
TERMINATING THERAPY
Once, we reach a place where you feel you have overcome your symptoms or concerns and are ready to discontinue therapy, we can end our work together.
POST-THERAPY CONTACT
I’m happy to remain available to you for issues that may come up in the future that you may want to discuss or work through even for just a few sessions.
